Bragging 'bout the Bulletin Boards

Though not created with kindergarten students in mind, the following bulletin boards are still some of my absolute favorites:

Cigarettes and Your Health

WhatsinaCigarette

The Benefits of Fresh Air and Fun Things to Do Outside

FreshAir

A Harry Potter Themed Semester (college)

HPThemedSemester

The Hidden Power of Smiling

HiddenPowerofSmiling

Goin' Home for the Holidays

goingHomefortheHolidays

New Year's Resolutions

NewYearsResolutions

The Hunger Games

HungerGames

... and The Roommate Agreement (yes, that's Sheldon!)

I didn't create any of these awesome boards, but I'm still able to brag:

My senior-in-college ~son~ created them, oh-yes-he-did.

My inner bulletin-board diva is ~beyond~ proud.

  1. Hi. I'm wanting to do a similar Hunger Games bulletin board for our JH/HS during testing season, next week! What do the sheets of colored paper say? I assume it's testing tips in some sort of appropriate language reflective of the movie and/or books. I haven't read the books or seen the movies, so if this is absurd, please forgive me. I'm ready to go, though, with a logo and letters and am just waiting on what to put on the papers. Thanks so much for the inspiration.

Hi Donna! My mom (Michaele) asked me to jump on and see if I could help you out. The Hunger Games board shown above was a lot of fun to put together! It was featured in a University Residence Hall during a time of year where we traditionally see different forms of interpersonal conflict popping up -- roommate/friend disagreements, etc. Thus, the text on the board itself is tied to conflict resolution. The four "pods" on the board were titled "Conflict Resolution 101," "Healthy Responses to Conflict," "Unhealthy Responses to Conflict," and "Having the Difficult Conversation." I don't think that the text I created would be directly relatable to what it sounds like you're creating -- however, I'd be happy to see if I can find the small text if you're interested.
I hope you can put together an awesome Hunger Games themed bulletin board!
