Later "Wacko Jacko" scenes and accusations aside, this was a moment, a movement that helped shape my teenage experience and my belief that we could all help one another, and have a positive impact in our global society:

As a teenager I was at the International Children's Festival at Wolftrap watching a group of Russian students perform (I say Russian, but this was before 1991 so they were Soviet). At the end of the performance they had everyone sing We Are the World. It was amazing. I'll never forget it.
